You will need the following ingredients:
- 6-10 tbsp almond butter or peanut butter (depending how thick you want the middle)
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1/2 pound dark chocolate
- 2 tbsp butter
First, you want to cut the bananas into slices.
Next you will want to spread the almond butter between two slices. Note that the almond butter may slide off the banana slice, so you may have to hold it in place. Freezing usually helps hold the slices together. Place the banana bites in the freezer for an hour.
In order to melt the chocolate you will want to make a double boiler. Fill a pot 1/3 of the way with water and boil. Place a glass bowl or a metal bowl on top with the butter and chocolate. I used a two 1/4 pound bricks of dark chocolate. When it begins to melt you will want to stir it.
Once melted, dip half of the banana bite into the chocolate and place on a plate. Do the same with all the bites.
Place the bites in the freezer for at least an hour before serving.
I like to keep them in my freezer so I have something somewhat healthy available when I have a sweet tooth.
