I have tried so many protein and energy bars that are filled with unrecognizable ingredients. I wanted something that would give me some sugar and protein before a workout.
You will need the following ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Dark chocolate peanut butter
- 3 tbsp sweetened cacao nibs
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 1-2 tbsp coarsely ground flax seed
- 1 cup quaker oats
Pour 1 cup of oats into a bowl along with the cacao nibs, chia seeds.
Microwave the chocolate peanut butter for 20 seconds so it is soft.
Mix together to form the dough. Roll into round balls. I made 8 balls total.
Then roll the balls in the flax seed. Place in the refrigerator and enjoy.
I also keep a few in the freezer for a late night snack.
