Dairy-free S’mores Hot Chocolate

Snow storm Pax has made it difficult to get to work today. I decided to start my morning with something warm and delicious. Yes, something sweet! The cocoa powder has no sugar so you can get your chocolate kick without all the extra sugar. I always like to have a piece of dark chocolate in the morning. Usually a few chocolate covered espresso beans will do the trick. Today I went a different route.

You will need:

  • Crushed graham crackers (gluten free)
  • Marshmallows (vegan or natural are the best option)
  • Cocoa powder (no sugar)
  • Almond milk

Heat a pot with 1 cup of almond milk and add 2 large tbsp of cocoa powder.

Once it comes to a boil, the powder should dissolve.

Top with marshmallows and crushed graham crackers. I used unsweetened almond milk, so if it is not sweet enough you can always add honey or agave nectar. The marshmallows gave it a nice sweetness.
