This is a sweet treat in the form of apple chips. Whenever I am at someone’s house for dinner or a party, dessert usually consists of delicious cookies, cakes, cupcakes and there alone in the corner is a big bowl of fruit. It is usually too hard to just go for the fruit without indulging a little. With the apple nachos, you can have one or two pieces and not ruin your whole day of health. You will still feel like you had a satisfying dessert. That is important to me. The second you feel like you are punishing yourself by only allowing yourself to eat fruit is the second your health plan goes downhill. There has to be a happy medium.
You will need:
- 2 sliced apples
- 4 tbsp dark chocolate chips
- 4 tbsp white chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp chopped pecans
- 1 tsp coconut oil (1/2 for each type of chocolate)
- 2 ziploc bags
Slice the apples thin so they look like chips. Then arrange them on a plate.
Take the dark chocolate chips and 1/2 tsp coconut oil and put in the microwave for 1 minute. Do the same in a separate bowl for the white chocolate chips. Stir until it has a smooth texture.
Next, pour the dark chocolate into one ziploc bag and the white chocolate into another. You will cut the end off the bag and start drizzling the dark chocolate first.
Next do the same with the white chocolate.
Top with pecans immediately so they stick to the melted chocolate.
